7 Importing and building the data set
Note:
The active data set cannot be changed at
this time. This is the one you selected for
the power-on reset (IML). Select one of the
other data sets.
1. Under the title “Data Set Status,” select any
valid data set (not the active one). The
data from the input file will be placed into
this data set.
2. Select
Options
from the action bar.
3. Select
Import source file
from the
pull-down.
The extended pull-down panel displays.
4. Select
Channel attached tape
5. Select
OK
.
The Import from Tape panel displays.
6. Type in the address of the tape drive.
7. Type in the file number of the input file.
8. If the file to be imported contains an LPAR
configuration select
Importing a source
file for logically partitioned mode
.
9. Mount the tape containing the input file on
the correct drive.
10. Select
OK
.
The Confirm the Action panel displays.
(This panel only displays the first time a
build is requested.)
11. Select
Ok
A Configuration Task in Progress panel
displays while the IOCP program is run.
The IOCP program may take up to 12
minutes to complete. When complete, a
message displays confirming the function is
complete.
12. Select
OK
.
