Function Keys & Buttons
Note:
This function does not take effect when
Memory Lock
is
activated.
Margins, Tabs &
Start Column
This set of functions is asserted by pressing the
F9
key ( equivalent
to the
User System
key) then
F2
. These functions enable you to
redefine the start column, set tabs, and specify the left and right
margins.
Start Column - F1
This function is used to temporarily redefine the start column for
transmitted data when no logical start-of-text pointer is present and
the
Return
or
Enter
keys are pressed in
Modify Line
or
Modify All
mode.
Note:
The default start column is specified in the
HP70092 Settings
dialog (see “Setup Options” on page 125).
Usually a start-of-text pointer is automatically generated to desig-
nate the leftmost character in the current line if it is the last line of
data in display memory. The pointer will remain in display memory
until the line is deleted. If the line has no start-of-text pointer, data
transmission will begin at the start column specified by this option.
The column range that can be specified is from 1 to 80, inclusive.
To change the current start column, move the cursor to the new start-
ing point and click this button or press the
F1
key. The start column
will revert to that specified within setup when the emulation is reset
or re-entered.
Set Tab - F2
This function enables tab stops to be defined. To define a tab stop,
move the cursor to the column to contain the tab then click this
button or press
F2
.
