If Y ou Encounter a Problem
If y ou ha v e a problem while installing or v erifying the HP 70340A, c hec k the follo wing list of
commonly encoun tered problems and troublesho oting pro cedures. If the problem that y ou
encoun ter is not in the follo wing list, refer to the T roublesho oting section of the Instal lation
and V eric ation Manual for y our MMS mainframe, or con tact the nearest Hewlett-Pac k ard
oce for service.
Mechanical Damage
If the instrumen t is mec hanically damaged when it is receiv ed:
Con tact the nearest Hewlett-Pac k ard oce and the carrier.
Keep the shipping materials for the carrier's insp ection.
P o w er-up Problems
If the p o w er light on the mainframe do es not light:
Chec k that the p o w er cord is connected.
Chec k that the mainframe fuse is go o d and the prop er v alue.
Refer to Figure 1-4. The metric 6.3A fuse is HP part n um b er 2110-0703.

Y ou can use a con tinuity light or an ohmmeter to c hec k the fuse. An ohmmeter should read
v ery close to zero ohms if the fuse is go o d. Visual insp ection of the fuse is not a sure c hec k
that the fuse is go o d.
If the fuse is bad, replace it and attempt p o w er-up.
