The \[SOURce[1]:]POW er[:LEV el]" command sets the output p o w er lev el of the Signal
Generator.
The parameters are as follo ws:
ampl Sets the Signal Generator output p o w er lev el. The allo w able range for the
parameter is 0100 dBm to +30 dBm if option 1E1 is installed and 015 dBm
to +30 dBm if option 1E1 is not installed.
MAXimum Sets the Signal Generator output p o w er lev el to the maximum allo w able v alue.
MINim um Sets the Signal Generator output p o w er lev el to the minimum allo w able v alue.
UP Increases the Signal Generator output p o w er lev el b y the curren t p o w er lev el
incremen t v alue.
DO WN Decreases the Signal Generator output p o w er lev el b y the curren t p o w er lev el
incremen t v alue.
DEF ault Sets the Signal Generator output p o w er lev el to its default (preset) v alue.
The allo w able range for the ampl parameter is 0100 dBm to +30 dBm if option 1E1 is
installed and 015 dBm to +30 dBm if option 1E1 is not installed.
Note
The actual maximum in ternally lev eled output p o w er for y our instrumen t at a
given frequency can b e found b y increasing the Signal Generator output p o w er
un til the UNLEVELED LED lights.
If a p o w er lev el en try is made that is not within the allo w able parameter range, an error
message will b e generated and the parameter will b e set to either its maximum or minimum
limit. P o w er lev el resolution is 0.01 dB. The preset v alue is 090 dBm if option 1E1 is installed
and 0 dBm if option 1E1 is not installed.
When the p o w er lev el is mo died, the Signal Generator circuitry will ensure that transitions
from one p o w er lev el to another will not allo w the lev el to exceed the maximum of the t w o
lev els if the instrumen t is in CW mo de (not mo dulated). If the RF output is b eing amplitude
mo dulated or pulse mo dulated, the Signal Generator circuitry will ensure that transitions
from one p o w er lev el to another will not exceed the maximum of the t w o p o w er lev els b y more
than 0.5 dB t ypical.
Note
Changing frequency or p o w er lev el while pulse mo dulating the output triggers
an in ternal p o w er lev el calibration. This calibration includes a CW burst
