output queue. Note that there are no low er status groups that pro vide input to this
bit.
5 A 1 in this bit p osition indicates that the Standard Ev en t summary bit has b een set.
The Standard Ev en t Status register can then b e read to determine the sp ecic ev en t
that caused this bit to b e set.
6 A 1 in this bit p osition indicates that the instrumen t has at least one reason to
require service. The bits in the Status Byte are logically ANDed with the Service
Request Enable register and the result is ORed and input to this bit.
7 A 1 in this bit p osition indicates that the Standard Op eration summary bit has
b een set. The Op eration Ev en t register can then b e read to determine the sp ecic
condition that caused this bit to b e set.
The Standard Ev ent Status Group
The Standard Ev en t Status group is used to determine the sp ecic ev en t that set bit 5 in the
Status Byte. The Standard Ev en t Status group consists of the Standard Ev en t Status register
(an Ev en t register) and the Standard Ev en t Status Enable register. The bits in the Standard
Ev en t Status register pro vide y ou with the follo wing information:

0 A one in this bit p osition indicates that all p ending Signal Generator op erations w ere
completed follo wing execution of the \*OPC" command.
1 This bit is alwa ys set to 0.
2 A one in this bit p osition indicates that a query error has o ccurred. Query errors
ha v e SCPI error n um b ers from 0499 to 0400.
3 A one in this bit p osition indicates that a device dep enden t error has o ccurred.
Device dep enden t errors ha v e SCPI error n um b ers from 0399 to 0300 and 1 to
32767.
4 A one in this bit p osition indicates that an execution error has o ccurred. Execution
errors ha v e SCPI error n um b ers from 0299 to 0200.
5 A one in this bit p osition indicates that a command error has o ccurred. Command
errors ha v e SCPI error n um b ers from 0199 to 0100.
6 A one in this bit p osition indicates that at least one fron t panel k ey (except the LINE
switch) has b een pressed (ev en if the Signal Generator is in Lo cal Lo c k out (LLO)
mo de).
7 A one in this bit p osition indicates that the Signal Generator has b een turned o and
then on.
The Standard Operation Status Group
The Standard Op eration status group is used to determine the sp ecic condition that set bit 7
in the Status Byte. The Standard Op eration status group consists of the Op eration Condition
register, Op eration Negative T ransition register, Op eration P ositive T ransition register,
Op eration Ev en t register, and Op eration Ev en t Enable register. The bits in the Op eration
