Components
Seed hopper
The seed hopper has a capacity of 70 litres.
The lid closes the hopper and protects the seed
against contamination.
If the hopper is open
, dust and dirt may fall
in. This increases wear and results in metering
errors.
Foreign objects can block or destroy the me-
tering unit.
Dressing dust could escape, or seed may drop
out during transport.
Filling the seed hopper
WARNING
Health risk due to absent protective outfit
¾
Follow the information in the safety data
sheets of the manufacturers about the sub-
stances used.
¾
Wear personal protective outfit (e.g. Respi
-
rator FFP3).
NOTE
We recommend adding a mixture of talcum
(80 %) and graphite (20 %) to the seed.
This is beneficial for metering quality, torque
demand, wear and static charge.
¾
Enter a quantity of 25-50 ml per seed hopper
(70 l).
¾
Mix the agent thoroughly with the seed.
¾
Never exceed the recommended quantity.
You may slightly increase the quantity in the
event of moist or comparatively small seed if
necessary.
¾
Open all seed hoppers and fill them uniformly.
¾
Close the seed hopper and secure them with
the snap locks.
Maintenance
The plastic parts of drill units, the seed
hoppers, parts of the metering device and the
downpipe must not be sprayed with oil, rust
remover, preservatives for diesel or any similar
substances. The plastic parts would otherwise
become brittle and may break.
Coulter discs
The coulter discs open the seed channel through
their wedge-type arrangement toward each
other.
The coulter discs must touch each other at this.
Checking coulter discs
The coulter discs are set correctly when the
following conditions are met:
•
When one coulter disc turns, the opposite disc
turns as well on its own.
•
The clearing unit is not clamped together with
the discs (between the coulter discs).
Readjusting coulter discs
This pre-tension will reduce due to wear and the
discs will no longer have contact.
In this case the discs must be replaced or re-
adjusted:
