SIDESTAND

INSPECTION

Support the scooter on its center stand.

Check the sidestand spring for damage or loss of
tension.
Check the sidestand assembly for freedom of move-
ment and lubricate the sidestand pivot if necessary.

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Remove the left floor skirt (page 3-9).

Remove the bolt and sidestand switch.

Remove the sidestand spring, bolt, nut and
sidestand.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

• Replace the sidestand pivot bolt and sidestand

switch bolt with a new one.

• Apply grease to the sidestand sliding surface.
• When installing the sidestand, tighten the

sidestand pivot bolt first, then tighten the nut to
the specified torque.
