CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
After cutting the seat, apply lapping compound to the valve
face, and lap the valve using light pressure.
• Excessive lapping pressure may deform or damage
the seat.
• Change the angle of lapping tool frequently to prevent
uneven seat wear.
• Lapping compound can cause damage if it enters
between the valve stem and guide.
After lapping, wash any residual compound off the
cylinder head and valve and recheck the seat contact.

SEPARATOR PLATE
BREATHER SEPARATOR CLEANING
Bend up the lock tabs of the breather separator plate.
Remove the two screws and breather separator plate.
Clean the separator plate and inside of the cylinder head
cover thoroughly.
Install the breather separator plate and tighten the screw
(3 nos.) to specified torque.
TORQUE: 3 N·m (0.3 kgf·m, 2.2 lbf·ft)
Bend the lock tabs of the plate against the screw heads.
