MAINTENANCE
WEAR INDICATOR
NUTS, BOLTS, FASTENERS
Check that all chassis nuts and bolts are tightened to
correct torque values (page 1-8).
Check that all cotter pin, safety clips, hose clamps and
cable stays are in place and properly secured.
WHEELS/TYRES
NOTE:
Tyre pressure should be checked when the tires are
COLD.
Check the tire pressure with the tire pressure gauge.
RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE:
Driver only:
Front: 150 kPa (1.50 kgf/cm 2 , 22 psi)
Rear: 200 kPa (2.00 kgf/cm
2
, 29 psi)
Driver and passenger:
Front: 150 kPa (1.50 kgf/cm
2
, 22 psi)
Rear: 250 kPa (2.50 kgf/cm 2 , 36 psi)
Check the tires for cuts, embedded nails, or other
damage.
Check the front and rear wheels for trueness.
Check the wear indicator to check for insufficient tread
depth.
If the wear indicator is visible, the tire should be replaced.
STEERING HEAD BEARINGS
Support the scooter on its center stand, and raise the
front wheel off the ground.
Check that the control cables do not interfere with the
handlebar rotation.
Check that the handlebar moves freely from side to side.
If the handlebar moves unevenly, binds, or has vertical
movement, inspect the steering head bearings
(section 13).
