INDICATOR ARROW

After filling, install each filler cap firmly.

Charge the battery (Page 15-7).

Check the specific gravity (Page 15-7).

Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
Add only distilled water. Tap water will shorten the service
life of the battery.
Never apply grease on the battery terminals. Always use
petroleum jelly.

BRAKE SHOES WEAR

FRONT BRAKE

Replace the front brake shoes if the indicator arrow on
the brake arm aligns with the reference mark “

Δ

” on the

brake panel when the front brake is fully applied.

Refer to page 13-8 for front brake shoe replacement and
brake drum inspection.

REAR BRAKE

Replace the rear brake shoes if the indicator of the brake
arm aligns with the reference mark on the transmission
case when the rear brake is fully applied.
