13.4 Bundle detector

The bundle detector adjusts automatically as a func-
tion of the stock thickness entered via the CP2000
Center. The bundle detector is always active, it can-
not be switched off.
The bundle detector (Fig. 55/2) checks the shingle
thickness in the infeed roller area. Different mea-
sures are taken, depending on whether a double
sheet or multiple sheets have been detected.
Note
Distinction between double sheet and
bundle (multiple sheets) is only possible
if the stock thickness of a sheet is at
least 0.4 mm. Only bundles (multiple
sheets) are detected if the stock thick-
ness is less than 0.4 mm.
Double sheets
The double sheet is

stopped before the printing unit by the sheet
stop finger;
D
the ratchet pawl moves upwards;
D
the feeder is switched off.
Bundle (multiple sheets)
The feeder is switched off immediately after multiple
sheets are detected.
Moving bundle detector on forwarding roller
shaft
1. Loosen the tommy bar screw (Fig. 55/1) on the
bundle detector.
2. Move the bundle detector to the required posi-
tion.
3. Tighten the tommy bar screw (Fig. 55/1) on the
bundle detector.
