has been reached the pump restarts and the process repeats. This process of
stopping and starting will continue until the PRP collection is completed.
11. After 10 ml of PRP have been collected the effluent line sensor starts looking
for RBCs spilling into the PRP collection bag. Once RBCs have been
detected the machine alerts the operator that the PRP Extended Collection
has started. The PRP Extended Collection Volume is programmed by the
operator in the Sequester Setup.
Note: If the sensor tubing is not properly installed in the line sensor, the CS5+ will
not detect the red blood cells spilling into the PRP collection bag and the CS5+
will not stop at the desired end collection point.
If the line sensor does not sense the red blood cells spilling into the PRP
collection bag the operator can press the stop or empty key to end the PRP
collection.
