5.3. 

Menu Function Types  

There are two types of menu functions on the IDU-450; top-level menu 
functions corresponding to the labeled button, and soft menu functions 
indicated by menu tiles, which appear on screen. Soft menu function tiles 
appear next to the appropriate IDU button or in the lower right corner when 
use of the encoder is appropriate. Soft menu functions take precedence 
over IDU button functions. 

 

5.4. 

Top-Level Menu  

On the IDU-450, the top-level menu corresponds to the permanent label of 
the IDU buttons and is active anytime no soft menu options appear on the 
screen.
