2.4 Installing a Probe

Follow the instructions in this section to install a probe on your USM Go.

2.4.1 Connecting the Probe

When connecting a probe to the instrument, the following steps must be taken:

•

Properly complete the physical connection of the probe to the instrument.

•

Properly configure the instrument to work with the connected probe.

The USM Go accepts either a 

single-element

 probe or a 

dual-element

 probe.

To install a 

single-element

 probe, connect the probe cable to either of the two ports on 

the side of the instrument (see 

Figure 11

 to the right). When a 

dual-element

 probe is 

connected to the instrument, the key between and below the ports ensures proper 
orientation of the transmit and receive connectors.
