Manually updating FortiGuard definitions
You can update your FortiGuard antivirus database, Intrusion Protection definitions, and
antispam rule set at any time from the License Information section of the System Status
page.
To update FortiGuard antivirus definitions, IPS definitions, or antispam rule set
manually

Download the latest update file from Fortinet support site and copy it to the computer
that you use to connect to the web-based manager.

Start the web-based manager and go to
System > Status
.

In the License Information section, in the AV Definitions, IPS Definitions, or AS Rule
Set field of the FortiGuard Subscriptions, select Update.

Select Browse and locate the update file or type the path and filename.

Select
OK
to copy the update file to the FortiGate unit.
The FortiGate unit updates the AV definitions. This takes about 1 minute.

Go to
System > Status
to confirm that the version information for the selected definition
or rule set has updated.
Time Interval
Select the time interval for the graphs to display.
CPU Usage History
CPU usage for the preceding interval.
Memory Usage History
Memory usage for the preceding interval.
Session History
Number of sessions over the preceding interval.
Network Utilization History
Network utilization for the preceding interval.
Virus History
Number of Viruses detected over the preceding interval.
Intrusion History
Number of intrusion attempts detected over the preceding
interval.
