Separate
supply If the control system and the field bus slaves have separate
power supplies, the power should be switched on in the
following sequence:
1. the power supply for all the field bus slaves
2. the power supply for the controller.
FREEZE and SYNC
The operating modes FREEZE and SYNC are supported by the
Festo Local control unit in accordance with EN 50170 (DIN
19245). The use of the FREEZE or SYNC command depends
on your master controller. Please refer to the documentation
for your field bus module for further information.
Caution
In the following cases, the FREEZE or SYNC mode will be
automatically reset:
– when the Local control unit is switched on/off
– when the field bus module has stopped
The FREEZE mode will also be automatically reset in the
following case:
– when the bus connection to the Local control unit is in-
terrupted (response monitoring active).
FREEZE With this function all the inputs of the Local control unit can
be “frozen”. The Local control unit then sends a constant
input image of all the inputs to the master. The following
FREEZE command causes the input image to be updated.
The updated input image is then sent constantly to the
master.
Return to normal operation with the UNFREEZE command.
