2.7  Bluetooth® function (optional) 

You can use the Bluetooth® function to establish a wireless connection between your 
navigation device and a Bluetooth®-capable mobile phone. This turns your navigation device 
into a hands-free kit. 

2.7.1 Connecting devices 

The first time you use your mobile phone or if you change your phone, the devices (mobile 
phone and navigation device) are not automatically connected even if they are in close 
proximity to each other. Initial setup is required so that they can communicate with each 
other in a wireless fashion. 

Attention

: Connected devices are the prerequisite for all available Bluetooth® functions. 

Activate the Bluetooth® function on your mobile phone. Make sure that the setting allows 
your mobile phone to be found by other Bluetooth® devices as well. To find out how to 
activate the Bluetooth® function on your mobile phone, consult your mobile phone handbook. 
When the phone is activated, it can then be recognised by other Bluetooth®-capable 
devices. Ensure that no other programs are accessing the mobile phone. 

Launch the Bluetooth® application on your navigation device by tapping the 

Telephone

 

button under 

Extras

. You can also launch the Bluetooth® application via the 

rapid-access 

menu

 by tapping the   symbol. 

The Bluetooth® application

displayed. If no mobile phone is connected to the 
navigation device, all available buttons have a 
grey background and cannot be selected. Tap the 
coloured 

Settings

 button. 

The display changes. Select 

Mobile phone 

search

 by tapping it. The system automatically 

searches for Bluetooth®-capable devices.  

Note

: If no compatible devices are found, a corresponding message will be displayed on the 

screen. If you tap the Ok button, the search for compatible devices is repeated. Select 

Cancel

 to return to the main menu. 

The navigation device displays a list of all devices that were found. Use the arrow keys at the 
bottom of the screen to scroll through the list. Select an entry by tapping it.  

Tap on the symbol 

to connect your navigation device to your mobile phone. 

Password protection: 

You will then be prompted to enter a password. 
Enter a numeric password of your choice. For 
security reasons, a minimum 4-character 
password is recommended. You can use the 
arrows to delete individual characters of the 
password if they were entered incorrectly. Once 
you have entered your password, confirm it with 
the Ok button. The default password is 1234.
