1.3.2 Screen lock
The screen lock allows you to extend the battery running time of your navigation device. It
also prevents you from accidentally switching on the device or accidentally making entries on
the screen and thus ensures that you do not trigger any functions you do not want to.
Activating screen lock
You activate the screen lock via
Settings>
Screen lock.
You have a choice between two basic settings:
Timer:
Activates the screen lock according to
your personal presettings. You have a choice
between 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes and 10
minutes.
Manual:
The screen lock is always activated when you manually activate the on/off switch on
the top of the device (6) (cf. Chap. 1.4). This means that audio will continue to be output, but
entries via the screen are no longer possible. For example, you can use your navigation
device with headphones (not included when the product is supplied) as an MP3 Player
(optional) and place the device in a case without accidental tapping on the screen resulting in
entries being made.
The screen is activated again if you touch the slide control on the display. Pressing the on/off
switch on the top of the device again will switch the device off and thus stop any audio
outputs.
Confirm your entry by tapping
OK
.
Screen lock active
The screen is activated after the device is switched on via the on/off button on the top of the
device or the battery switch on the bottom of the device. You will now see a virtual slide
control which you can use to switch on the device. To do this, place your finger on the touch
screen and move the slide control from top to bottom. The device is now switched on.
If the slide control is not operated within a certain period of time, your navigation device
automatically switches off again.
