2.6  Voice control (optional) 

With some products, it is possible to control the Falk Navigator with voice commands in 
addition to the onscreen menus.  

For example, you can enter your destination address using voice commands. The Falk 
Navigator recognises your commands and then navigates to the desired destination 
town/city. 

Note: 

Please familiarise yourself with the voice commands and the voice control system 

functionality before using this function while driving.

 

Note: 

The voice commands have to be articulated exactly in order for the device to 

recognise them.

 

2.6.1 Activating voice control 

To activate voice control, select the voice control symbol. 

 This symbol is found on all 

screens with functions that can be controlled using the voice control system. 

Two central symbols characterise the voice control function: 

Listen:

 when voice control announcements are being made. 

Speak: 

indicates that the device is ready to receive your spoken entries. 

An 

audible

 and 

visual

 feedback signal indicates that voice control has been activated. You 

can start using voice commands after you hear this signal. The voice control symbol switches 
to speak. 

Note:

 When voice control is activated, the acoustic output of other applications (e.g. MP3 

Player, Travel Guide) is automatically muted.  

Note: 

Reducing the volume of other output devices while using voice control is 

recommended. If background noise from devices such as the radio is excessive, voice 
recognition problems may result.

 

Note: 

Voice control cannot be activated while you are making a telephone call using your 

navigation device’s Bluetooth® hands-free speaking system.

 

Interrupting a voice command message 

During a voice message from your navigation device, your voice commands cannot be 
recognised by the navigation device. 

If you would like to commence voice input while the voice control system is still playing back 
a message, click the button. 

The current message is interrupted and the input signal sounds. You can start using voice 
commands after you hear this signal. 

Note:

 If you would like to hear fewer or no messages, you can configure the options under 

the voice recognition settings.
