Levels of Access
Unless authorised by level 2, access at levels 3 and 4 shall be prevented. Access levels 2,3 &4 can be
obtained remotely as long as the required authorisation is granted. Therefore, access by a manufacturer
(level 4) or engineer (level 3) is not allowed until approved by a level 2 user.
Europlex Conformity
EN50131-1, 8.3.1 - Table 1 Indicates that only level 4 users are permitted to change/replace the basic programme.
Europlex systems currently do not have a manufacturer’s code and do not have the facility to download software
upgrades remotely. All software upgrades must be carried out by engineers that have been approved by Euro-
plex.Upgrades have to be performed on site and require an EPROM change on the main 3GS controller (located
within the system enclosure). Therefore,as level 2 authorisation is required to give access for level 3 and level 4 users,
Europlex consider that the conditions of this requirenment are met.
