C o n t r o l / D r i v e C i r c u i t

Figure 2-71 shows the

control/drive circuit block diagram. The main CPU (1 3A) transmits

print data for one line in three steps (8-bit data x 3

24 dots) and stores the data in control gate array

(2A). The sub CPU

outputs the

trigger pulse

to the E05A02 LA. When

the

signal is LOW, chopper type drive signal PNPON goes active, the drive transistors in

drive

(1A) which drive the

coils are activated, and printing is executed. The

sub CPU monitors the

internal temperature to prevent the

coil from burning, and

also monitors the paper thickness and +35 V line voltage in order to apply the correct print energy

the

coils in accordance with the paper thickness.
