Quick Start: Introducing DynaVox Series 4

Upgrading

As we add new features and correct known issues, DynaVox Technologies may periodically release new
versions of the DynaVox Series 4 software. The best way to ensure that you receive software upgrades as
soon as they become available is to periodically check our website for new upgrade releases. To do this,
follow these steps:

1. Log on to

www.dynavoxtech.com

2. Select the link to

Tech Support

.

3. Select the link to

24/7 Tech Support

.

4. Check the

Announcements

box to see if a new version is available. A new software version

will be announced with a statement like "Version X for the Series 4 is now available."

If a new software version is available, you can request an upgrade file from DynaVox Technologies’
Technical Support group. To do this, continue with these steps:

5. Select the upgrade announcement. A knowledge base entry with a link to the upgrade request

form will be presented.

6. Select

to fill out the upgrade form. The software upgrade request form will be

presented.

7. Enter your information into the upgrade request form. Items that are in red text with an

asterisk (*) are required information. Items that are in black text are not required, but
submitting this information will help us learn how to contact you for future upgrade
opportunities.

8. Select the

Submit Now

button at the bottom of the form.

When your request is received, Technical Support will send you a CD that includes the upgrade file,
upgrade instructions and release notes to explain the new software features.

Follow these steps to upgrade your DV4/MT4 device:

Note:

The steps below require the use of a USB storage device (like the one that was shipped with
your DV4/MT4). You can also upgrade with a secondary data storage card. If you prefer to use
a data storage card, please refer to the Series 4 Searchable Help for step-by-step instructions.

Note:

Before starting, be sure to load the upgrade file onto the removable USB storage device.
