Saving Information to the Data Storage Card
Whenever you make changes to your device’s language files (dictionary entries, abbreviation expansions
and pronunciation exceptions), you should be sure to save this information directly to your device’s
Compact Flash data storage card. Saving information to the storage card will prevent a loss of information
in the event of a device failure.
1. Select the pull-down menu button in the title bar at the top of the touch screen.
2. Select
Save to Card
in the main pull-down menu.
3. Select the
Yes
button to confirm that you want to save information to the storage card.
An hourglass icon will be displayed on the touch screen while the information is being saved. This process
may take a moment.
Performing a Soft Reset for System Maintenance
If the performance of your DV4/MT4 device starts to slow, a soft reset may improve the speed and
efficiency of the software.
Note:
To prevent any accidental loss of information, you should be sure to complete a Save to Card
operation (see the
Saving Information to the Data Storage Card
steps above) before beginning
the soft reset.
1. Select the pull-down menu button in the title bar at the top of the touch screen.
2. Select
Soft Reset
in the main pull-down menu.
3. Select the
Yes
button to confirm that you want to start a soft reset.
The soft reset will take a few minutes. The touch screen will go dark and the device will begin the reset
process. Splash screens for Windows CEand DynaVox Series 4 may be presented for a few moments.
Do
not make any selections on these screens.
After a few minutes, your device will automatically restart.
You will be returned to the page that was open when you started the soft reset.
