SECTION 7: CONFIGURING SERVICE APPLICATIONS
SECTION 7
Configuring Service Point Activity Monitoring
This section describes how to configure the D3D-2500 to monitor service point activity. Once configured, the camera sends service
data (service event start/end time, number of people served, number of seconds occupied, etc.) to DIGIOP ELEMENTS™ software or
to a data delivery IP address in XML format. Service points are created and configured from the Queuing tab.
7.1 Service Overview
The service feature uses a green configurable zone to represent a service area. When a new service point is added, you can move,
reshape, and resize the zone to fit the service point. All green service point zones have minimum time and merge time parameters
that can be accessed by clicking the Advanced button from the Queuing tab. When using service metrics, the D3D-2500 only
considers those tracks that pass the counting constraints (minimum height, maximum height, and cart filter).
7.1.1 About the Service Metrics
The D3D-2500 camera calculates the service metrics based on individuals who have passed counting constraints and service zone
constraints. The D3D-2500 camera sends data packets that contain the service statistics for the data delivery time window. These
statistics include the Number of People Served, Number of Seconds Occupied, and individual Service Times. The D3D-2500 camera
automatically calculates these metrics at the aggregation level you have selected on the Data Delivery tab. In order for a track to be
counted in the service metric, it:
•
Must pass counting constraints (minimum height, maximum height, and cart filter).
•
Must be within the service area (green zone).
•
Must be within the service area for longer than the set service minimum time.
•
In order for a service time to be calculated for a track, the track must start outside of the service zone, enter the zone, and exit
the zone. Once the track exits the zone, a service event is sent in an XML packet.
NOTE
Tracks do not have to start outside of the service zone to be counted in the Seconds Occupied metric. The Number Served metric
requires the track to enter, but not exit the service zone.
7.1.2 Service Area Constraints
Min time:
The minimum time that a person must remain in the service area before they can be counted have their service time
recorded.
Merge Time
: The minimum time that a person, who has entered the service zone, can exit the zone and then re-enter and have
their service time merged into a single service time.
