SECTION 2: INSTALLATION
Sample coverage area
Camera can be installed via:
•
Standard mounting bracket with a ¼”-20 threaded post.
•
Surface mount (see Surface Mount) – Used for locations where a minimal disturbance to ceiling is required.
•
Recess mount (see Recess Mount) – Used for drop ceiling mounting. Mounting brackets attach to the camera using 1/4”-20
threaded post.
•
Mount at heights between 2.4 metres (8 feet) and 20 metres (65 feet) (with appropriate lens).
•
Mounted in a downward looking orientation and level in both tilt and yaw such that the camera is looking straight down (if
possible). The DIGIOP® 3D camera software also supports mounting at angles in sites where 90 degree downward looking
mounting is not possible (additional license required).
•
Mounted over fairly level surface (mounting over stairs or highly sloped surfaces is not recommended).
•
Mounted in such a way that the entry or exit corridor is positioned at or very close to the center of the camera field of view.
•
Adequate space should be provided in the mounting bracket or mounting holes to allow for one 10/100BaseT CAT5e Ethernet
cable to be run above the mounting location.
•
When using recess mounting brackets, a maintenance loop of at least 3 feet should be stored in the ceiling above the mounting
location.
