§4.3 - Specific conditions for use
•
Position the vehicle on a flat even ground, and secure it
against unintended movements (e.g. by means of parking
brake, wheel blocks,…).
•
If the vehicle or the ramp are equipped with stabilising
legs, deploy these before opening the platform [see Fig.
4.6]. Ensure that the stabilising legs are positioned on
solid even ground.
•
In case of soft terrain (sand, gravel,…), solid support
blocks must be used under the stabilising legs [see Fig.
4.7]. Lock the vehicle air suspension, so that the loading
floor of the vehicle cannot rise after deployment of the
stabilising legs.
•
If the vehicle or the ramp are not equipped with stabilising
legs, lower the vehicle air suspension, if allowed by the
vehicle manufacturer’s user instructions, and lock the sus-
pension in this position. [see Fig. 4.8].
•
The purpose of this is to keep the floor height of the vehi-
cle unchanged during the entire loading / unloading opera-
tion, and thus prevent potential overload and damage to a
platform that would raise off the ground, should the air
suspension unexpectedly go up.
