Fig. 2.2 - Ramp DH-AR2... with articulated platform and 2
fixed stabilisers
N° Description
10
Platform: carries the load during loading / unloading.
It can be a closed steel tear plate surface, a steel
meshed platform for reduced wind resistance, or with
an inlay of wooden planks or aluminium profiles.
The platform is either full width, or split into 2 separate
sections [like this on Fig. 2.2]
10a Top section of the platform, also called platform point.
10b Bottom section of the platform.
11
Ramp frame: mounted in a fixed position at the rear of
the vehicle body. It bears the platform and the hydrau-
lic tilt cylinders.
12 Tilt cylinders: hydraulic cylinders used to OPEN /
CLOSE the platform.
13
Fixed stabilisers: mechanical connection between the
top and bottom platform section, ensuring that the 2
platform sections OPEN / CLOSE simultaneously, as a
pair.
14
Mechanical support legs: supports under the articula-
tion points in the middle of the platform.
They form an integral part of the strength of the plat-
form, and MUST be set in firm contact with solid
ground before the platform is loaded.
15
Electric control box: mounted in a fixed position under
the vehicle body. Contains the electrical switches al-
lowing the operator to execute all functions.
