3) SAFETY DEVICES
DHOLLANDIA
hydraulic ramps are equipped with a wide
range of safety devices, in order to ensure that goods can be
loaded / unloaded with a maximum degree of safety for both
the operator and the load.

3.1
Anti-slip surface
: the platform surface is made off
steel tear-plate [see A in Fig. 3.1] or meshed steel
(option, enabling even quicker evacuation of dirt and
snow) [see B in Fig. 3.1], providing optimum protection
against slipping.
3.2
Electrical safety valves
mounted to all platform
mounted cylinders. A safety valve locks the hydraulic
oil inside the cylinder as long as its solenoid is not acti-
vated by a control switch.
Its purpose is to hold the platform in its travel position
during transit, or in a fixed position in case of the failure
of a hydraulic pipe (as soon as the control button is
released).
DHOLLANDIA
valves are equipped with a manual
emergency control, allowing the operator to open the
valve in case of electrical power failure.
3.3
Mechanical platform lock
,
premounted by
DHOL-
LANDIA
, or retrofitted by the body builder in function of
the type of body.
It is not compulsory in all mounting situations (see
mounting instructions). But it is strongly recommended
in order to:
•
prevent the platform sections from moving while in
transit;
•
thus reduce the mechanical driving noises;
•
thus reduce the wearing forces in articulation pins
and bearing;
•
and to prevent the platform from falling in case of
accidental loss of hydraulic pressure.
