The scanner media offset determines the
left, top and bottom points of the scanning
range. The media offset is set during
production, but you can correct slight offset
irregularities if they occur. Set values for
Side, Top, Bottom offsets.
An offset value in the Side field means that
the scanning field
’
s side reference point is
moved towards the middle.
An offset value in the Top or Bottom fields
mean that the scanning field
’
s top or bottom
point is moved down

ALE
Accuracy Lens Enhancement
Technology (ALE) electronically
maintains precision across any
two points of the scan line for
meeting strict accuracy
requirements.
Enable
Disable
Default
: Disable
The option should be enabled for scanning
tasks that require a high level of precision
such as the precise capture of scaled maps
and CAD drawings.
In rare cases, when scanning originals
printed with raster, the ALE function can
create interference that will appear as bands
in the output. This effect will be amplified if
the sharpen filter is also applied with the
scan/copy. In these cases it is
recommended to disable sharpening, ALE or
both.

Scanner Setup->
Lamp
(Flatbed scanners
only)
Usually the lamp will only need

In some cases, with scan-to-

cause unstable colors. This
option is a remedy for such
problems.
