8.6 Locate / Insert the Smart Card
On Scanners:
HD4230i
Some scanner models are shipped with a Smart Card in separate package or, you may have purchased a
smart card for your scanner in order to upgrade it. Follow the instructions below and on the Smart Card
packaging for inserting your smart card.
Be sure to turn the scanner power off
and disconnect the power plug
when removing/inserting a
Smart Card or accessing the Smart Card area.
You will find the Smart Card insertion slot by removing the scanner
’
s interface cover on its right side. The
Smart Card insertion slot is located just above the scanner interface connectors. Your Smart Card is
placed in the insertion slot. Make sure the arrow side faces upwards and the contact side faces
downwards.
Be sure to reattach the cover after inserting the smart card. The cover must always be closed before
you turn the scanner ON.
Insert your thumb in the slot at the top
of the interface cover. Push down to
snap the lid open.
