10. A pp ly talcum powder to inside w all o f rear housing
and silicon e lubricant to the scalloped cutouts o f front
housing and to seal in rear housing. A ssem b le diaphragm
and plate assem bly into rear housing by carefully guiding
rear plate hub through seal in rear housing. Bosses on center
plate m ust be aligned between lances in rear housing for
reassembly. W ork outer rim o f front diaphragm into rear
housing with screwdriver blade so that it is under lances in
housing.
11. A ttach base o f H olding Fixture J-22805 to front
housing w ith nuts and washers and draw down tight to
elim inate bending or dam age to studs.
12. Secure front housing and H old in g Fixture J-22805
on arbor press plate by a suitable m eans (fig. 5-4B).
13. Place Spanner W rench J-9504 over studs on rear
housing. U se three washers and nuts to attach w rench to
housing. Place a suitable piece o f pipe (approxim ately two
inch I.D . and approxim ately three inches in length) over
plastic diaphragm plate hub. Place a piece o f flat stock steel
over end o f pipe.
14. Install diaphragm return spring so that sm all end
o f spring is against front housing.
