Check the following:
– All jointed surfaces and screw/stud threads of
engine:
• spark plug base, insulator
• cylinder head
• RAVE valve bellows, piston and housing
• cylinder crankcase halves (joint)
• oil injection pu
m p m ounting flange (O-ring)
• coolant pu m p housing
• bleed screws/plugs
• crankcase grease reservoir fitting.

Check for air bubbles or oil colu m n going toward
pu m p. It indicates defective check valve in injec-
tion nipples.
– Re m ove cooling syste m cap.
Check for air bubbles in antifreeze. It indicates de-
fective cylinder head O-ring or cylinder base gas-
ket.
– Re m ove drive pulley then check crankshaft
outer seal.
– Re m ove rewind starter and m agneto syste m
then check crankshaft outer seal.
– Check pu m p shaft gear oil reservoir.
Pu m p S haft Oil Gear Reservoir
Install air pu m p on adapter and pressurize as
above.

If pressure drops, it indicates a defective crank-
shaft inner seal.
