Grip
NOTE: T hese m odels feature an integrated heat-
ing ele m ent in the plastic sleeve of the grip n o. 13 .
CAUTION: Re m ovi n g grip fro m ha n dlebar

re m ove n eedlessly.
NOTE: If heating grip does not work and needs to
be replaced, the grip can be cut with a knife for
re
m oval.
Throttle S ide:
Unfasten windshield.
NOTE: T hrottle lever housing n o. 21 m ust co m e
off handlebar along with grip.
Re m ove cap n o. 3 or steering padding n o. 23 ac-
cording to m odel. Unplug RH harness on top of
steering colu m n. Cut locking ties retaining RH har-
ness to handlebar.
Re m ove throttle lever housing cover n o. 19 .

1. T hrottle lever housing cover
Re m ove circlip n o. 24 fro m throttle cable housing.
Unfasten throttle cable fro m throttle lever, then
pull out throttle cable housing fro m throttle lever
housing n o. 21 .
Unscrew screws n o. 10 and re m ove J-hook n o. 12
fro m end of grip on so equipped m odels.
Loosen screw n o. 20 retaining throttle lever hous-
ing to handlebar. See photo below.
Insert the open side of a 23 mm (7/ 8 in) wrench
against the inner end of grip.
CAUTION: Pay atte n tio n n ot to da m age wires
with the wre n ch.
Using a plastic ha mm er, tap on the side of the
wrench end to m ake the grip slide out.

1. Screw retaining throttle lever housing
Cut locking ties on harness. Using the m ul-
tilock-ter m inal housing extraction tool AMP
(P/N 7 55 430-2), push the 3 wires of the heat-
ing grip harness out of connector housing. Note
the position of the wires for reinstallation.

Pull heating grip harness out of throttle lever hous-
ing.
For installation refer to grip installation below.
Brake S ide:
Unclip windshield.
Unplug connectors fro m brake light switch located
on m aster cylinder n o. 22 .
