Fault
Possible cause
Remedy
Desired positioning accuracy is
not achieved
Excessive control deviation of the high-
response valve
Check in operating mode 32 “Tool change“ the
control deviation with A-variable A004 following
error(k) in the Diagnosis window of WIN-PED®.
If the control deviation is >±0.3 V, first adjust
the zero point as described in Chapter 8.1.14
“Adjusting the zero point of the high-response
valve“ on page 73.
If the fault cannot be rectified, the pilot valve
should be changed first. If no improvement is
observed, replace the complete high-response
valve.
Punching rate is no longer
achieved
Incorrect gas pressure in the hydraulic
accumulator
Check gas pressure (see page 111)
Accumulator discharge valves open
Close accumulator discharge valves
Accumulator charging valve not properly
actuated.
Check function and actuation.
Power unit does not generate sufficient flow
Check pump flow on the power unit.
HNC100 does not respond
HNC100 switched off
Check whether the HNC100 is ready for operation
- OUT 4 = 24 V (High).
Check whether 3.3 V, RUN and BUS-LED light
solidly green.
Signals are not passed on
Check signals and the individual wires of a
defective connection cable.
Incorrect wiring
Check and, if required, correct wiring
Loose connection and contact problems
Inspect connection cable and contacts and, if
required, correct
Data transmission over Profibus
to the HNC100 does not work
reliably
Incorrect timing of data transmission
Use of handshakes that ensure that data are
transmitted properly before the next stroke is
initiated.
Axis is slightly humming
EMC interference on the valve control loop
value or the actual position value.
Ensure installation of the HNC100 in line with EMC
requirements.
Air in the system
Bleed the system by extending and retracting the
cylinder repeatedly with long strokes.
Incorrect contact
Check soldering points of the connection cable
and cables for loose connection.
Excessive noise on the actual position value
Check 24 V supply voltage for residual ripple
content and noise pulses and, if necessary, use
power supply unit with lower residual ripple
content and better EMC immunity.
Better shielding and installation of the position
transducer cable - use genuine cables
Limiting cycles due to high adhesive friction
of the cylinder
Record command value, actual value and valve
command value with the help of “Measurement” in
WIN-PED®. Limiting cycles are present, when the
actual value fluctuates around the target position
at low frequency and the valve tries to correct this
in vain.
The cylinder shows excessive friction and must be
replaced.
