Reference Background Set-Up
comparison will allow you to determine if the background on an analysis being done is within an
acceptable range.
NOTE
A reference background file is linked to a specific optical bench (serial number) and sample module
being used. This means that a reference background obtained from one optical bench cannot be used on
a different optical bench. Likewise, a reference background obtained on an MLM cannot be used on an
ULM, etc.
Part 1 - Setting Up a Reference Background
An acceptable reference background will be one that is within the recommended flux intensity.
These values are:
•
2.5x106 for either channel 1 or 2
•
2.0x106 for the sum of channels 10 to 40
•
up to 20 for the highest channel between 95 and 126

Thoroughly clean the optical system and fill with clean diluent.
