6.28 Brakes
WARNING
Leaks in the brake system significantly decrease the braking force.
Check the brake system daily for leaks.
Immediately repair leaks.
WARNING
Have the brakes checked by your dealer and maintained at least 1x per year.
The permitted pressure decrease is 1.5 psi
(0.1 bar)
after 10 minutes (at 72.5 psi
(5 bar)
pressure in the compressed air tank).
Brake shoes: on new brake shoes, the thickness of
the lining is 0.4 inch
(10 mm)
. The brake shoes must
be replaced when the lining has worn down to
0.2 inch
(5 mm)
. The thickness can be checked
through an inspection hole.
Checking the thickness of the lining:
1.
Open the cover [1].
2.
Use a flashlight [2].
3.
Check the thickness [X] of the lining [3].
4.
Replace both brake shoes when the thick-
ness [X] is less than 0.2 inch
(5 mm)
