Maintaining Your GC

Remove the plug from the fitting. To connect the tubing, with nut and ferrules, to another 
fitting, finger-tighten the nut, then use a wrench to tighten it 3/4 (1/8-inch fittings) or 1-1/4 
(1/4-inch fittings) of a turn.

Both correctly- and incorrectly-swaged connections are shown in 

Figure 57

. Note that the 

end of the tubing in a correctly-swaged fitting is not crushed and does not interfere with the 
action of the ferrules.
