11 Maintaining the FID

To Perform Maintenance on the FID Collector Assembly

196

Maintaining Your GC

Lower the collector assembly into the housing.

Insert the three screws and tighten (to 18-inch-pounds).

Connect the ignitor extension cable.

Exit maintenance mode. Select

Maintenance > Instrument > Perform Maintenance >

Maintenance Mode > Finished.

Verify assembly:

Check the FID leakage current. See

“To Check the FID Leakage Current”

on page 197.

Bakeout the detector. See

“To Bakeout the FID”

on page 200.

Check the FID baseline. See

“To Check the FID Baseline”

on page 198.

Reset the EMF counters.
