Description and Procedure
In the ALC lo op, the in tegrator input from the ALC detector is dela y ed (phase shifted from
the reference input) through the ALC mo dulator, RF path, and ALC detector. Because of
this, amplitude mo dulation can p eak the AM frequency resp onse. In this adjustmen t, y ou set
the dela y in the reference input equal to the dela y in the input from the ALC detector.
The syn thesizer is set to maximum lev eled p o w er at a CW frequency , with amplitude
mo dulation at the maximum rate. Monitoring the INT L VL signal (the in tegrator output),
adjust the AM DELA Y to minimize an y A C v oltage presen t.
1. Preset the instrumen ts sho wn in Figure 3-31 and let them w arm up for at least one hour.
