4. P o w er Sensor Configuration and Calibration F actor File
Description
This utility is used for creating and editing the les that store p o w er sensor calibration
factors. The p o w er sensor calibration factors are used in the \P o w er Flatness" and \Step
A tten uator" p erformance tests and adjustmen t pro cedures. This data can b e stored to the
directory or disk for future use. The p o w er meter/p o w er sensor conguration utilit y is used
to dene whic h p o w er sensors, b y serial n um b er, are actually used when the automated test
is run. Although y ou may en ter and store calibration factors for sev eral p o w er sensors, the
program will use only the p o w er sensors that y ou ha v e iden tied b y serial n um b er in the
conguration utilit y .
Loading Sensor Calibration F actors
The service softw are program for loading sensor calibration factors is unfriendly . F ollo wing the
steps outlined should result in a successful en try .
Do not h urry or skip steps.
T o Load Sensor Cal F actors:
1. Load the 8360 Service Softw are and run.
2. A t the \T est Men u" selected one of the follo wing: \P o w er Flatness and Accuracy T est",
\Step A tten uator Flatness T est", \P o w er Flatness Adjust", or \Step A tten uator Flatness
Adjust".
3. Press the \Help" k ey (F2) when it app ears on the function k eys to get to the \Help
Men u" where the \Pmtr Cong" (Po w er Meter Conguration) and \Pmtr Cal F actors"
selections are lo cated.
4. Scroll do wn to and select [2] \Pmtr Cong". The p o w er meter conguration routine is
only used to select sensor serial n um b ers (mo del n um b ers are xed). After selecting \Pmtr
Cong" the screen will display a list of mo del and serial n um b ers the program will use
during the test.
Imp ortan t Notes for Editing the Selections:
No new mo del n um b ers can b e added. The program only recognizes the mo del n um b ers
listed and will stop if other mo del n um b ers are en tered.
Mo del n um b ers can not b e c hanged. Only the serial n um b ers can b e c hanged in this
men u. Use serial n um b ers to track dieren t sensor mo del n um b ers.
Only edit sensor serial n um b ers in this men u.
Alwa ys exit the program b y selecting [17] \Sa v e Conguration" and, then, pressing
\Done". A bug in the program may erase mo del n um b ers if this is not done. If a mo del
n um b er is missing create a new w orking disk n um b er 2 using the master disk or purge
\PMTRCONF" le from the w orking disk and cop y the \PMTRCONF" le bac k to the
w orking disk from the master disk.
The frequency range of the instrumen t determined whic h sensor mo del n um b ers listed
will b e used during the test. The serial n um b er determines whic h cal factors will b e
used. The follo wing list explains whic h mo del n um b ers are used when.
