1. Self-tests
1. P erform the full self-tests con tained in the instrumen t rm w are. No additional test
equipmen t is required. Press 4

Selftest (Full) .
The syn thesizer executes a series of self-tests. When completed, the follo wing message is
display ed if all the tests passed:
ALL SELF-TESTS HAVE PASSED!
Note
Occasionally , the self-tests may fail when it is run remotely or when external
cables are connected to the instrumen t. If the self-tests fail, remov e all cables
and run the self-tests from the fron t panel. If the self-tests pass under these
conditions, the instrumen t is op erating prop erly .
External connections to the instrumen t during self-test may not allo w the lines
to c hange conditions within the limits of the self-test's parameters.

If the syn thesizer fails one or more self-tests, a dieren t message is display ed listing the
most indep enden t test that failed and a reference to the b est en try p oint in to the A gilent
