On the Front of the base of the unit there is a permanently
affixed drying station, water bath and a fixed in place heater
module assembly. On the back of the base is a removable
Carrier Assembly with wells for 12 Staining Vessels.
Two stainless steel, vertical side panels support an enclosed
bridge structure above the staining wells. The bridge structure
is made of painted steel. Within this bridge are system
electronics, motors and drive mechanisms for the Robotic
Arm. Suspended from the bridge is the Robotic Arm that
carriers, lifts, and lowers the Slide Basket. the Robotic Arm
moves Right and Left and rotates to the Back side of the unit,
where it also moves Right and Left.
In the center of the unit, between the Front and Back Carrier
Assemblies there is a lowered channel. Beneath the stainless
steel cover to this channel are the fluid-control and pumping
mechanisms. Shown in the raised position in Figure 3.1 are the
transparent acrylic covers. These are lowered to enclose the
working area of the stainer.
The power switch is on the Left side panel, and the Exhaust
Fan and Power Cord are on the Right side panel.
The Hoods are made of transparent acrylic. The Top cover and
frame base are made of painted steel.
