X-Sensor Board Photo-Sensors Cleaning Procedure
Required Tools and Consumables
To perform the cleaning procedures, the following tools and
consumables must be available:
•
Cleaning agents:
–
Water: use distilled or deionized water
–
Alcohol: Use 70% Ethanol or isopropyl alcohol
(isopropanol)
•
Acid brush or lint-free wipe
Procedure
WARNING:
Always disconnect the system power at the
plug to the wall socket before beginning disassembly of
the unit.
1. Remove the Hoods by gently squeezing inward on the two
(2) metal arms that connect the Hoods to the unit.
2. Remove the Top Cover by unscrewing six (6) 6-32 x 1/4
Phillips-Head screws, three (3) on each side of the unit.
3. Move the X/Y Table to the right-side of the instrument.
4. Use the Ethanol with the acid brush or lint-free wipe to
clean each Photo-sensor left to right until you reach the
X/Y Table.
5. Move the X/Y Table to the left-side of the instrument.
6. Use the Ethanol with cotton swabs to clean each
Photo-sensor that was behind the X/Y Table.
7. Move the X/Y Table to an area that has no Photo-sensors
to clean the Sensor Flag mounted on the Table Assembly.
8. Move the X/Y Table manually left to right while watching
the clearance of the Flag passing through the
Photo-sensors to verify that the Flag is not bent.
9. Connect the Abbott VP 2000 Processor to a power source.
Turn power ON and monitor the instrument for proper
power-up sequence.
