10. Allow two (2) minutes for the basin temperature readings
to stabilize with all heaters OFF.
•
If the temperature readings are stable and reasonable
for room temperature proceed to the next step.
•
If any of the basin temperature readings are changing
rapidly and erratically or if the temperature is in
obvious error, replace the sensor bar.
Refer to
Manually Controlling the Basin Heaters
procedure in this section for instructions on how to view
the basin temperatures.
11. Using a calibrated digital readout thermometer (Omega
model HH603A Thermocouple Thermometer or
equivalent) with an immersible thermocouple probe (type
J, K, or T as appropriate for meter calibration) check each
basin fluid temperature. Make sure the thermocouple
probe is suspended in the fluid and not touching the basin
walls or the temperature sensor probe for that basin. The
basin temperature should be within
2
o
C of the
temperature indicated on the Abbott VP 2000 computer
screen for the corresponding basin. Make note of any
basin that exceeds this limit.

transparent safety hoods.
