need to be different. For example, suppose the
server.properties
file is
shared between two servers and contains the following setting for the
tftpboot directory:
tftpServer.tftpbootDirectory=c:\\Program Files\\3Com\\TFTP
Server\\tftpboot
However, if one of the EMS server’s TFTP directory is
c:\tftpboot,
you can add the following line to the
local_server.properties
file to
work round this:
tftpServer.tftpbootDirectory=c:\\tftpboot
Setting Up Server
Failover
This section contains the steps to follow to configure your two EMS
servers for correct operation of Server Failover.
Initial Setup Set up both servers as described in Chapter 3 “Installation and Initial
Setup” .
CAUTION: The
server.properties
and
local_server.properties
files must be edited as detailed in “Editing the Properties Files” before the
servers are run.

After both servers have been installed and setup you need to configure
the servers for Server Failover by editing the properties files
(
local_server.properties
and
server.properties
) before you run
the servers.
The
local_server.properties
file can be found in the EMS root
directory and can be opened and edited with a suitable application, such
as Notepad.
1 Setting Remote_Server Properties
Edit the
Remote_Server
property of the
local_server.properties
on each server to specify the IP address or DNS name of the other server
taking part in the Server Failover system. If this property is commented
out (default), the server will not try to open a connection and EMS will
not run in Server Failover mode.
