Exchanging the lamp module of the xenon illumination ssystem
• Turn on the stand at its power switch.
• Tap the key (2). The lamp module (1) is slightly ejected.
• Pull out the lamp module (1) as far as it will go.
• Slide the original transport case (3) over the lamp module. The bolt (4)
must engage in hole (5). This unlocks the stop.
• Remove the old lamp module and insert the new module.
• Switch on the stand at its power switch. on the stand at its power switch.
• Check the function of the xenon lamp and backup xenon lamp.
• Pack the old lamp module (6) in the transport packaging of the new lamp
module. Fill in the enclosed return card and send the old lamp module to
the nearest Zeiss service representative.
Please only use the original transport packaging (6) as it acts as an explosion
protection for possibly defective xenon lamps.
NOTE Risk of burns from hot lamp!
If you replace the lamp shortly after it has failed, the lamp will still be
very hot.
• Allow the lamp to cool down before changing it.
NOTE Risk of injury
The xenon lamp may quickly burst due to the high inner pressure even if it is
cold. A hot lamp is therefore more dangerous due to the higher pressure and
the stressed materials.
In the case of burst lamps, persons may be injured by flying glass splinters.
The lamp module must only be changed by instructed staff.
• Only change the lamp module when it is cold.
• Avoid knocks to the lamp module.
