Typical procedure
Starting work
• During surgical procedures in the facial area, the patients must wear
tinted UV protective eyewear (ordering data) Page 252.

Check that all preparations for use have been completed.
• Check the device for proper function. The process is described in chapter
"Operation – Function test before use".
• Switch on the power switch of the suspension system.
• Select the filter suitable for your application in the illumination beam path.
• Adjust the brightness on the suspension system. Start with the lowest
brightness and then slowly increase the brightness until the necessary
level is reached but do not exceed the permissible level.
• When focusing, make sure to carefully lower the surgical microscope and
observe the working distance from the patient. The working distance
approximately corresponds to the focal length of the object lens used.
• For focusing, move the surgical microscope over the surgical field into an
ergonomic position within the working distance.
• Select the magnification required using the changer button.
CAUTION Damage to the eyes due to high light radiation!
During surgical procedures in the facial area, no light must enter the patient’s
eye.
• Make sure to protect the patient’s eye from light radiation.
CAUTION Danger of burnings
Patient may be burnt if the microscope is unattended targeted to the patient
with the light source switched on.
• Never let the device unattended with the light source switched on.
