Symptom
Probable Cause
Corrective Action
Inadequate or no
power to the weld
processor
(Power supply LED is
on)
Bad connectors or improper
seating of power supply
and/or weld processor in
the chassis.
Remove power and inspect the power
supply and weld processor connections.
Remove power from the chassis and
re-seat modules.
Power to the rack has been
cycled too fast, causing a
large current inrush result-
ing in a thermal overload.
Remove power from the rack for AT
LEAST two minutes. Then restore
power.
Blown fuse on the power
supply.
Check the fuse. Replace if necessary.
Line power is not con-
nected to the power supply.
Verify that line power is connected to
the power supply.
Improper voltage jumper
setting.
Check the jumper setting to verify it
matches the input voltage.
Loss of RAM memory
(Batt LED is on)
The battery on the weld
processor card is low or
dead.
Replace the battery on the weld
processor card. (The battery is soldered
in place. Only qualified personnel
should attempt battery replacement in
an ESD-safe environment.)
Weld processor and
SLC processor can-
not communicate
(CPU Fault LED on
SLC processor is on)
Bad connectors or improper
seating of the weld proces-
sor or SLC processor in the
chassis.
Remove power. Inspect the SLC pro-
cessor and weld processor connections.
Then cycle power.
Remove power from the chassis, re-
seat modules and restore power.
Weld processor firmware
and SLC ladder logic are
incompatible.
Verify compatibility; correct as needed.
If not known, consult your WTC
representative for assistance.
