POSITIVE TREND LIMIT:
(99)
NEGATIVE TREND LIMIT:
(99)
These two parameters serve to prevent runaway stepper
conditions. These can arise from problems such as improper
electrode cooling, incorrect base heat, or arcing secondary
current-carrying cables causing problems with the
monitoring of power factor drop (PFD).
These parameters limit how much (in either direction) the
stepper can modify the current provided to a weld. Starting
from zero, the control increments the appropriate trend
(positive or negative) every time it adds or subtracts current.
When these limits are exceeded, the control generates the
SureWeld Stepper Trend condition, as programmed in the
setup parameters.
MAXIMUM (–) ADD’L %I
(–10)
This parameter sets the limit on how far to decrement the
total %I when using the %I firing mode.
MAXIMUM (–) ADD’L CURRENT: (–00000 AMPS)
This parameter sets the limit on how far to decrement the
total heat supplied during a weld function when the SCR
firing mode is ACC. Total heat is the base I (in A.) defined in
the last weld function in the schedule minus the I (in A.)
added by the stepper.
MAXIMUM %I:
(99%)
This parameter sets the maximum amount of total heat to
supply during a weld function when the SCR firing mode
is%I.
Total heat is the base heat defined in the last weld function in
the schedule
PLUS
the heat added by the stepper.
MAXIMUM CURRENT:
(99999 AMPS)
When the control is using the ACC firing mode, this
parameter defines the total current (in secondary A.) to
supply during a weld function.
Total current is the base current (in A.) defined in the last
weld function in the schedule,
PLUS
the current (in A.) added
by the stepper.
>?D5*
If the control detects that the total heat or current reached or exceeded the
maximum defined above, it generates the END OF STEPPER condition.
