Controller is inoper-
able, but no major 
CPU faults are 
detected (PC Run 
LED is on)

Defective I/O devices or 
I/O wiring.

Test inputs and outputs, according to the 
I/O Troubleshooting section.

Cycle power.

Faulty memory module.

Remove power, then remove memory 
module from the processor. Re-install the 
processor and re-apply power to the 
power supply. If the CPU Fault LED 
changes to flashing, replace the existing 
memory module. 

Faulty processor or 
power supply.

Place the processor in another chassis 
and cycle power. If a steady CPU Fault 
LED re-appears, replace the processor. If 
CPU Fault LED clears, monitor the line 
power to the power supply in the existing 
system. Replace the power supply if the 
line power checks OK.

Processor memory mod-
ule installed incorrectly.

If upgrading the processor ladder, verify 
that the logic chip is properly seated.

SLC ladder logic and 
weld processor firmware 
are incompatible. 

Verify compatibility; correct as necessary. 
If not known, contact your WTC 
representative for assistance.
